Merrifield Law was founded by Emily Prentice-Blackett, a national of the United States Virgin Islands, and a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis. Emily obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School.

Emily was called to the St. Christopher and Nevis Bar in 2016 and has been litigating cases at the Magistrate Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal ever since. Emily has wide range of legal experience and knowledge, and she co-authored the Chambers and Partners Global Real Estate Practice Guide for St. Kitts and Nevis 2020 and 2021.
